"The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers." - Psalms 24: 1-2
Hello!! Recently my family and I took a trip to the small island of Grand Cayman. Public bus, boat, bike, van, cab, and feet are all ways we were able to see this beautiful piece of land. My personal favorite way to get around was the public bus, because we got to meet and view the people and areas not typically seen by tourists; and I am happy to say most everyone was warm and welcoming. While we were in Grand Cayman we partook in various activities consisting of paddle boarding, kayaking, shopping, snorkeling, scuba diving, and the well known swimming with stingrays. The stingray encounter is a cool experience because the rays are not caged, yet they still come and allow humans to hold them. I also thoroughly enjoyed the diving, we were lucky (some might say lucky to see, others say lucky to live) enough to encounter a nurse shark, two sea turtles, and a lot of barracudas. We were also able to make our way around most of the west end of the island including three different grocery stores, five different restaurants, and hundreds of iguanas. This island offers so much variety and one of my favorite things about it is all of the ethnical backgrounds everyone comes from. Another interesting fact about Cayman is that they have what they refer to as "footloose Sunday's", which is exactly how it sounds. On Sunday, there isn't any music, and most businesses are closed everywhere. There are enough places open for tourists to enjoy meals (Hard Rock Cafe in Georgetown is open) but other than few restaurants the island is quiet. Overall my island experience was incredible and I highly recommend giving this island a visit!
